We are looking for an experienced test manager that can take the Test Manager Support role within the Central Test Office (CTO) that is being established to support the Rapprochement Program in the delivery of a robust and stable series of implementations.
A significant amount of testing will be undertaken - at times, concurrently - across more than one hundred and fifty projects. Under most circumstances, the person fulfilling the Test Manager Support role will not be directly involved in the day-to-day activities of managing a testing project as the position is seen as more of a coaching and monitoring role.
However,there may be times when the individual is asked to immediately step in and help a project frame up or adjust its testing approach and there will be times when this individual will perform testing "healthchecks" on a project, or suite of projects, and make assessments and recommendations.
This individual must have a deep, thorough and practical knowledge of the testing lifecycle and be familiar with various testing methodologies. As well, this person must have successfully led large-scale test projects that span across both Technology and Business functions.
Identifying and helping the organization address cross-organizational test-related risks and issues is a key element of the work this individual is to perform and some of the techniques that will be used to identify.
these risks and issues include test strategy reviews and tracking projects' key test milestones and deliverables, looking for signs that indicate a project's testing may be at risk. To be effective, this individual needs to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with the requisite "soft skills" to guide teams through difficult situations and to know how and when to recommend risks and
issues.
Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required as this individual may be called upon to give teleconferences and provide answers to questions being posed by not only the Test Managers and Test Coordinators within the other projects but also by Program and Project Managers.
